Mera Saeybaan

‘Dedicated to my father; Mr. Sheikh Abdul Mateen, who has always been an inspiration for me in every walk of life.’

Mere lafz be-hadd qaleel hain,
Shayad buhut haqeer hain,
Phir bhi yeh sach hai jo bhi hai,
Mujhe sach sikhaya hai aap ne.

Pehchaan di,
Mujhe naam diya,
Harr tarah ka aaraam diya,
Lehja diya kalaam mein,
Abbu! janab aap ne.

Halaal kia hai mujhe kia thi khabar,
Farq kia hai iss mein aur Haraam mein,
Kis ne di mujhe yeh tameez?
Abbu! janab aap ne.

Pabandi seekhi pehlay,
Waqt dekhna seekha baad mein,
Kis ne sikhaya mujhe yeh sab?
Abbu! janab aap ne.

Jis ne kaha mujhe khush-naseeb,
Uss ne bhi theek hi hai kaha,
Maine jo maanga aap se,
Mujhe wo dilaya aap ne.

Mujhe deen ki thi kia samajh,
Mera wasta tha kia namaz se,
Iss naimat-e-azeem se,
Mujhko milaya aap ne.

Duniya mein dhokay hain buhut,
Insaan bhi haiwaan bhi,
Iss be-emaanon k shehr mein,
Eemaa(n) bachaya aap ne.

Mera jab utha pehla qadam,
Ungli thi thaami aap ki,
Main larkharaya jo aaj bhi,
Mujhko uthaya hai aap ne.

Iss pyaar ka hai mol kia?
Yeh to Khuda hi hai jaanta,
Mujh pe to bus luta diya,
Saara jahaa(n) hi aap ne.

Meri dua hai buss yahi,
ALLAH k hazoor mein,
Mera saibaa(n) rahay sada,
Uss Rab k hafz-o-amaan mein.

Aameen!

May ALLAH (SWT) bless him with health, prosperity, happiness and a very long life. Aameen !

May Allah (SWT) always keep him healthy. He has been a tireless advocate for honesty, transparency and hardwork. I very much admire his constant example of forbearance, compassion, competence, integrity and fortitude.
